Very few couples understand the risks of being caught in the tragedy of infidelity. Those that do fail to make the connection between the known risk factors lack of time together as a couple, habitual conflict avoidance, and significant amounts of time with others outside the marriage and their personal risk of having an affair wreak destruction on their marriage. A national initiative is underway to raise awareness of the risks, to celebrate fidelity to marital vows, and to debunk the myth of an affair as a love story. This drive is intended to help couples across the nation protect and celebrate their marriages. Marriage Fidelity Day features the Lone Knight carrying a Banner as the national symbol reminding us to take a stand for marriage and family. The solitary figure reminds us that each voice counts and each marriage is important. The symbolism of the knight urges us to take a stand. Because an affair is not a love story. Infidelity, when it strikes, seems to come out of the blue. In retrospect the danger signs are obvious and the possibility of safeguarding the marriage with appropriate measures can be seen. Now is the time to begin understanding the risks and taking measures to protect a marriage. Marriage Fidelity Day raises awareness of the risks, outlines ways to protect the marriage, celebrates fidelity to the marital vows and takes a stand against the myth of an affair as a love story. It is reaching couples through a network of partner organizations. Marriage Fidelity Day is sponsored by SYMC Global Village, Inc., a not for profit organization that works for marriage advocacy around the world. It is supported by partnering community organizations across the country which are raising awareness regarding infidelity and hosting events to celebrate fidelity to the marriage vows. Educational materials are being distributed at local events and presentations celebrating marriage and fidelity. Locally, (insert description of local event).
